pidgin-awayonlock software package provides pidgin plugin to set as away on screensaver activation, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install pidgin-awayonlock
pidgin-awayonlock is installed in your system.
Make ensure the pidgin-awayonlock package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep pidgin-awayonlock *
You will get with pidgin-awayonlock package name, version, architecture and description in a table
